Job Title

Assistant Professor - Microbiology, Molecular Genetics and Immunology

Position Summary

The Department of Microbiology, Molecular Genetics and Immunology at the University of Kansas Medical Center invites applications for a tenure‑track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level focused on microbial pathogenesis and immunology. Preference will be given to candidates researching either cancer immunology or bacterial pathogenesis that complement existing expertise.

Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent degree, with postdoctoral training, including an immunology focus.
  • Strong independent research record with impactful publications.
  • Excellent communication, teaching, and writing skills.
Job Duties
  • Establish or continue an externally funded, independent research program.
  • Actively participate in graduate and medical education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Curriculum Vitae.
  • Two‑page description of research plans.
  • Contact information for at least three references.
  • PDF reprints of no more than three recent publications underpinning future research.

Benefits

Coverage begins on day one for health, dental, and vision insurance, with health expense accounts and generous employer contributions.
