Job Summary

Augusta University's Department of Art and Design is seeking to fill a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Graphic Design, anticipated to begin August 2026. The position carries a 2/2 teaching load with opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, community engagement, and professional practice.

Responsibilities
  • Teach two studio courses per semester in foundation and graphic design (BFA and BA concentrations).
  • Develop and enhance departmental curricula while contributing to program growth.
  • Mentor and advise undergraduate students, supporting portfolio development and professional preparation.
  • Maintain an active program of creative research or scholarship with regional, national, or broader impact.
  • Contribute to departmental, college, and university service through committees and community engagement.
Required Qualifications

MFA in Graphic Design or a closely related field, or equivalent terminal degree in the appropriate discipline. In exceptional cases, candidates with equivalent professional experience and demonstrated accomplishments may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Evidence of effectiveness as a teacher and potential to excel in mentoring undergraduate students.
  • Evidence of ongoing scholarly or creative activity with potential for regional, national, or broader impact.
  • A combination of industry and teaching experience is highly desirable.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
