The term of the initial untenured appointment is four years, and the appointment is contingent upon completion of all requirements for a Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field. Salaries for professorial faculty at Caltech fall in the range of $125,000 to $400,000.
