The successful candidate will teach existing Indigenous/American Indian/Native American/First Nations history courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level and propose new courses in their areas of specialization that will expand our curriculum. We especially welcome candidates whose research and teaching has a geographic focus on the North American West. UNLV is situated on the traditional homelands of the Nuwu (Southern Paiute people), and we value knowledge of the Indigenous nations that have stewarded these lands from time immemorial, including the Las Vegas Band of Paiutes and the Moapa Band of Paiutes. UNLV is a member of the Newberry Consortium of American Indian Studies (NCAIS). We encourage applications from candidates with robust scholarly research and publication agendas who are also interested in community engagement.
