Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio is seeking an Assistant Professor to join the Division of Hematology within the Department of Internal Medicine. The successful candidate will engage in hematology research, secure funding, supervise lab staff, and fulfill academic duties.
This position requires a PhD or equivalent and a proven ability to develop a productive research program. Mentorship of students is also essential.
Assistant Professor to serve as a member of the Division of Hematology within the Department of Internal Medicine; embarks on a program of research in the specialty of hematology; obtains external research funding; supervises lab staff; participates in the academic commitments of the division and department.
Required: PhD or equivalent in a related field; an established record or strong evidence of the ability to achieve an extramurally-funded and productive scholarship program in a discipline of medical laboratory science or related field; ability to mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
The Division of Hematology consists of 71 physicians, physician scientists, and research faculty and has a strong history of career development in laboratory, translational, and clinical research. Our faculty are supported through structured mentoring with a focus on personal career advancement. Clinical researchers develop a broad portfolio of investigator-initiated and industry-supported trials. The OSUCCC-James is one of only 56 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the nation, with a state-of-the-art facility that fosters integration of research and clinical cancer care, including a 36-bed blood and marrow transplant unit.
