Job summary

The University of Florida invites applications for a nine-month, full-time, tenure-accruing Assistant Professor position in Philosophy and Ethics of Artificial Intelligence, starting August 16, 2027, on the Gainesville campus. The candidate will pursue an active research program in AI ethics and philosophy, teach four courses per year at undergraduate and graduate levels, and contribute to graduate education and mentoring.

Strong candidates will have a Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Philosophy or will complete by hire date.
• Active research agenda in philosophy and ethics of artificial intelligence.
• Evidence of effective teaching.

Responsibilities

• Teach four courses per academic year at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Provide service to the department, university, and the profession.
• Contribute significantly to graduate education and mentoring of graduate students.
