The Department of Integrative Biology seeks an innovative scientist whose research uses any combination of field, experimental, or theoretical approaches to address fundamental questions in ecology. A research emphasis that features an original and productive research program on plants/algae, invertebrates, microbes or marine systems is a high priority for the department. Further, research that focuses on organisms and their unique properties is welcomed.
Faculty at the assistant rank in our department demonstrate excellence, originality, and productivity in research, the strong potential to obtain external funding, a capacity for excellence in teaching and mentoring of undergraduates, graduate students, and postdocs, and a commitment to service consistent with Berkeley's principles of community. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute in instruction in IB’s core courses in ecology.
