The position focuses on cybersecurity and cyber operations, encouraging expertise in cybersecurity combined with artificial intelligence, machine learning, quantum computing, robotics, smart health, the Internet of Things (IoT), and cyber‑physical systems.
Louisiana Tech University is designated as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity for Cyber Defense (CAE‑CD) and Cyber Research (CAE‑R). Faculty research efforts are supported by specialized research centers, including the Cybersecurity Applied Innovation Laboratory (CyAIL) and the Center for Secure Cyberspace (CSC), which facilitate collaborative research and provide opportunities for securing external research funding.
