The University of Pennsylvania seeks a highly qualified candidate for an Assistant Professor – CE Track serving as Assistant Director of the Clinical Immunology Laboratory at CHOP. The role emphasizes clinical immunology expertise, flow cytometry, and leadership in a high‑complexity laboratory.

Candidates must hold an MD and/or PhD, with board certification in Clinical Pathology for MDs, and eligible for Pennsylvania medical licensure.

Qualifications

• MD and/or PhD required.
• MD applicants must be board certified in Clinical Pathology (AP/CP or CP) and eligible for PA licensure.
• PhD applicants must have fellowship or postdoc training and be board-eligible or certified by DMLI (ASCP) / ABMLI or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Teach Immunology and Rheumatology fellows, residents, medical and graduate students, and clinical lab scientists.
• Oversee the Clinical Immunology Laboratory, interpret tests, provide consultations, assure quality.
• Develop and implement new diagnostic assays; support testing for primary immunodeficiencies and immune-mediated conditions.
• Contribute to translational and collaborative research in clinical immunology and emerging therapies.
