Job summary

Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center – New Orleans, School of Dentistry is seeking a full-time faculty member to teach in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry, Program in Dental Hygiene. The position includes laboratory, pre-clinical, clinical, and didactic instruction to dental hygiene students and students in other disciplines within the LSU Health Sciences Center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
• Louisiana dental hygiene license required.
• Louisiana local anesthesia certification required.
• Possession of or eligibility for nitrous oxide inhalation analgesia certification.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing as a dental hygienist for a minimum of 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Teach in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry, Program in Dental Hygiene across laboratory, pre-clinical, clinical and didactic instruction.
• Advise assigned students and participate in school activities and committees.
• May be required to travel to rotation sites.
• Contribute to instruction for students in other disciplines within LSU Health Sciences Center.
