Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate in Developmental Psychology, Child Development, Child and Family Studies, Clinical Psychology, Education, Learning Sciences, or a closely related field prior to appointment.
  • Strong foundation and training in developmental theory and research.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality undergraduate education and ability to teach students from diverse backgrounds at the undergraduate level.
  • Evidence of scholarship related to child development and a research agenda that advances the development, health, and well-being of children and/or families.
  • Interest in preparing undergraduates to work effectively with children, adolescents, and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to balance teaching, scholarship, and service.
  • Demonstrated potential for integrating technology into instruction.
  • Commitment to working effectively with students from intersecting marginalized social groups.

Responsibilities

  • Teach at the undergraduate level; engage in research and scholarship; and provide service to the university, college, department, profession, and community.
  • Participate in department and campus-wide committees, maintain office hours, collaborate with colleagues, attend faculty meetings, and engage in traditional academic functions.
  • Support tenure and promotion decisions through excellent teaching, peer-reviewed publications, and high-quality service.

Education

Doctorate in Developmental Psychology or related field
