The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Department of Surgery in the School of Medicine at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana is seeking a BE/BC (or equivalent) plastic surgeon with fellowship training in hand surgery for an academic faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor; academic rank and track will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and stature in the field. Responsibilities include clinical care, research, and teaching in hand and plastic surgery. This will be a full-time hand surgery position with opportunities for involvement with cases requiring microsurgery and general plastic surgery. Clinical activities will be primarily centered at University Medical Center – New Orleans, a full service, regional facility. There are leadership opportunities within the department and also within the clinical partner hospital administration for candidates with leadership and management experience.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education:MD or equivalent
Other Education if applicable:Completion of plastic surgery residency training and fellowship in hand surgery prior to hire date
Certifications or Licenses Required:BC/BE (or equivalent) surgeon; must be licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana before date of hire
