Overview

Assistant Professor Academic Clinician Cardiac Anesthesiologist – CHOP at University of Pennsylvania. The position is in the non-tenure academic clinician track within the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine. Primary focus is Pediatric Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and ABA certification with subspecialty certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Anesthesiology, the equivalent, or status as a candidate in the examination system, along with the ability to obtain a Pennsylvania medical license.

Responsibilities

• Teach in the formal didactic program and provide informal teaching to medical students, residents, fellows, and other health care professionals in the cardiothoracic operating rooms and procedural areas.
• Provide direct patient care and medical direction in the cardiothoracic operating rooms and procedural areas. Primary practice is at the Philadelphia campus of the Children\'s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Qualifications

• M.D. or equivalent degree.
• ABA certification with subspecialty certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Anesthesiology, the equivalent, or status as a candidate in the examination system.
• Ability to obtain a Pennsylvania medical license.
• Experience in pediatric cardiothoracic anesthesiology and evidence of academic productivity and leadership related to an area of focus.
• Experience or potential to develop an Area of Concentration (AoC) within the Academic Clinician track.
