Position Vacancy Announcement
Florida A&M University's Department of Psychology is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for an Assistant Professor, full-time, tenure-track position. The Department of Psychology is housed in the College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities and this position reports to the Department Chairperson.

Responsibilities
  • Provides quality instruction in three to four courses per semester on (psychological) statistics, research design, research methods, and/or experimental psychology at the undergraduate and graduate levels; prepares lectures, course activities, and materials; grades exams and papers; implements departmental assessment plan; provides support to undergraduate students about psychology curriculum, research, preparation for graduation, employment, graduate school, and other academic matters; attends faculty meetings; participates on departmental committees and in departmental programs and activities; prepares administrative reports relative to activities; conducts research and publishes in area of specialty; engages in grantsmanship related to area of specialty or departmental needs; serves on university committees; engages in relevant community service; and demonstrates commitment to larger community through involvement in service.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology or related field (for example statistics, research design and methodology, applied statistical analysis, measurement and design, quantitative analysis, evaluations, etc.…); Degree must be conferred on or before August 1, 2025.
  • Must be capable of teaching Psychological Statistics, Research Methods, Experimental Psychology, and other related courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels; knowledge and experience with multicultural issues; teaching experience equivalent to junior-level ranks; and scholarly publications and grantsmanship equivalent to junior-level ranks.

  • Candidate has experience teaching and/or doing research using both quantitative and qualitative research designs, methods, and analyses; or, the candidate has been exposed to quantitative and qualitative designs, methods, and analyses and is interested and/or willing to gain more proficiency/training in the same.
Anticipated Salary Range

Maximum hiring rate $79,500.00.
