Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching and Instruction
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Anatomy & Physiology, Histology, and Human Parasitology preferred.
  • Design, revise, and assess courses in alignment with CDU curricula, learning outcomes, and accreditation standards.
  • Employ inclusive, student-centered teaching strategies that support diverse learners.
  • Participate in curriculum development, assessment, and continuous quality improvement activities.
Research and Scholarly Activity
  • Maintain an active and productive research agenda aligned with departmental and institutional priorities.
  • Submit competitive external grant applications and contribute to funded research programs.
  • Publish in peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
  • Integrate students into research and scholarly activities.
Student Mentoring and Advising
  • Mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate students on academic progress, research, and career development.
  • Supervise student research projects, theses, dissertations, and capstone experiences as appropriate.
Service, Recruitment, and Administration
  • Participate in departmental, college, and university service and shared governance.
  • Contribute to student recruitment, outreach, and retention efforts.
  • Assist with accreditation, assessment, reporting, and program development.
Other Duties and Responsibilities

Qualifications/Requirements
Education
  • Doctorate degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related field is required.
Experience
  • Meet competency requirement (experience in content area within the last five years)
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of related teaching experience is desired.
  • Records of successful teaching experience in a postsecondary program are preferred.
Knowledge/Ability/Skills
  • Commitment to student learning outcomes and evidence-based teaching practices.
  • Knowledge of and interest in the university mission
  • A demonstrated sensitivity to students with diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds and students with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of computers and willingness to use multimedia instructional materials and computer-based educational platforms (Smart Board, Webct/Blackboard, Proctorio, university course management system Power Campus)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching, research, and community service
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong computer knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of students
  • Ability to establish and maintain a collegial working relationship with faculty and students
  • Ability to maintain safety in the laboratory setting
  • Knowledge of teaching and clinical practice in related field.
  • Knowledge of current developments, trends, and complexities within related field and industry.

Complexity

Compensation
  • $95,000 - $105,000 Annually
