Job description

Organization Overview:

The Florida Panthers are in their 33rd season in 2026-27 as one of the National Hockey League's premier franchises. As back-to-back Stanley Cup Champions in 2024 and 2025, the Panthers have won 11 of their past 12 postseason series and captured four Eastern Conference Championships. The organization is led by President of Hockey Operations & General Manager Bill Zito, entering his seventh season, and President of Business Operations Michael White, beginning his first full season.

Anchored by a championship culture on the ice, the Panthers are equally committed to building a world-class sports and entertainment platform off of it. The organization focuses on delivering an elite guest experience across all venues, deepening the connection between the team and the South Florida community and continuing to grow the sport for the next generation. The Panthers operate four facilities in Broward County: Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise which is home of Panthers home games, concerts and events, Panthers IceDen in Coral Springs, the state-of-the-art Baptist Health IcePlex in Fort Lauderdale and renovated War Memorial Auditorium which hosts concerts and events year-round.

The Panthers are owned by Vincent J. Viola, a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and a veteran of the U.S. Army. That foundation of selfless service shapes the organization's identity at every level. The Panthers' pillar program, "Heroes Among Us," honors a U.S. military veteran at every home game, and the Florida Panthers Foundation directs its efforts across four core pillars: veterans' affairs, children's health and education, raising awareness for the endangered Florida Panther and growing youth hockey throughout the region. The organization remains deeply committed to empowering and strengthening the diverse communities of South Florida and the tri-county area.

Job Summary

The Assistant Production Manager will support the Director of Production across all areas of production operations, helping to ensure the seamless execution of concerts and private events at the FTL War Memorial. This role is designed to assist with the day-to-day operational workload of the Director of Production, allowing them to focus on higher-level priorities while maintaining ownership of their events.

A key function of this role is to provide split-shift event day coverage alongside the Director of Production, with each independently managing either load-in or load-out operations. This shared coverage model ensures full-day event execution without requiring either party to work excessive hours, while maintaining a period of overlap during the event day for alignment and coordination.

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of all aspects of venues, sound, lighting, video, and rigging, and be an excellent creative problem-solver who approaches difficult situations with a solution-oriented mindset. They will excel at prioritizing tasks, managing their own workflow and that of a labor crew, and have a network of colleagues in the field to hire and consult with about various production needs. This person will thrive in a small, rigorous, team-oriented environment with the ability to work under pressure in rapidly changing circumstances.

  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of production, sound, lighting, video, rigging, and overall venue operations to provide effective day-to-day support to the Director of Production
  • Independently manage either load-in or load-out operations on event days, coordinating crew, equipment, and logistics to ensure smooth execution of their assigned shift while maintaining alignment with the Director of Production during overlapping hours
  • Assist the Director of Production in coordinating technical requirements and logistics for concerts and private events, including communication with vendors, touring crews, and internal departments as directed
  • Support the Director of Production in tracking event production budgets and expenditures; assist in preparing budget recaps and event estimates as directed
  • Collect and organize vendor and crew invoices and submit them to the Director of Production for review and processing
  • Assist in preparing and organizing documents for settlement as needed, coordinating with the Director of Production and Sr. Director of Finance
  • Apply a creative approach to problem-solving across a wide variety of concerts and private events
  • Understand overall stage management needs and requirements for shows
  • Assist with front-of-house oversight as needed to ensure optimal event performance at FTL War Memorial
  • Work with operations staff to support preventive maintenance programs for production and stage equipment
  • Collaborate with all departments to maximize revenue and minimize expenses at FTL War Memorial
  • Assist Amerant Bank Arena staff as needed on production-related projects
  • Perform additional production-related projects, tasks, and events as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise stagehands and back-of-house crews during assigned load-in or load-out shifts, operating independently as the senior production manager on site during their coverage window.
