APPARATUS, a New York-based designer and manufacturer of high-end lighting, furniture and objects, is seeking an Assistant Designer to support custom product development. The role focuses on drawing and documenting custom iterations while protecting design principles and collaborating with Sales to deliver beautiful, efficient client solutions.

The position is full-time and based in our New York studio, with standard hours and willingness to work longer hours as needed.

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
• 1-3 years’ experience in industrial design, with a focus on lighting and furniture a plus.
• Experience designing with materials such as wood, metal, glass, porcelain and leather, including a basic understanding of their manufacturing properties.
• Experience in a high-paced environment that prioritizes precision, excellence and consistency.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain accurate technical drawing packages, installation instructions and templates for custom orders.
• Utilize APPARATUS aesthetic vocabulary to create best custom iterations for client requests.
• Upload custom order files into software systems and organize drawing files on the shared server.
• Collaborate with sales and assembly teams regarding project questions, timelines and updates.
