Albertsons Companies is seeking an Assistant Produce Department Manager for Safeway stores in Hawaii. You will oversee daily Produce operations, ensure freshness and attractive displays, and drive sales through merchandising and inventory control.

You will train, coach, and develop produce associates, manage labor schedules, and uphold safety and company standards in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

Qualifications

Main Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Produce Department with a focus on freshness, quality, and customer service
• Deliver knowledgeable, friendly service and ensure associates demonstrate strong product knowledge
• Execute corporate merchandising programs, planograms, seasonal sets, and promotional displays
• Maintain full, fresh, clean, and visually appealing produce displays at all times
• Manage product rotation, remove damaged or unsellable items, and maintain freshness standards
• Order, receive, inspect, and store product following food safety and rotation guidelines
• Manage shrink through inventory controls, root‑cause identification, and waste‑reduction strategies
• Build and manage labor schedules aligned with business needs
• Train, coach, and develop produce associates while maintaining a positive team environment
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and company operational standards
