Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking an Assistant Produce Manager in Grapevine, TX to help oversee daily produce department operations, drive freshness, presentation, and profitability while delivering an exceptional shopping experience.

You will lead training, assist with ordering, inventory, and merchandising, and promote safety, quality, and customer service standards across the department in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily produce department operations to ensure efficiency, product availability, and department readiness.
  • Ensure fresh fruits, vegetables, and related products are properly stocked, rotated, and merchandised.
  • Monitor product quality, freshness, and appearance to maintain company standards.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, inventory control, and shrink management activities.
  • Ensure execution of promotional programs, seasonal displays, and merchandising plans.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor displays.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and create a positive shopping experience.
  • Assist customers with product selection, special orders, and produce-related questions.
  • Address customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Promote a customer-focused culture throughout the department.
  • Ensure products are presented in a manner that encourages customer confidence and sales.
  • Assist with training, coaching, and developing produce associates.
  • Provide daily direction and operational support to department team members.
  • Monitor productivity and ensure adherence to department standards.
  • Support scheduling and staffing needs to meet operational requirements.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and associate engagement.
  • Assume department leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Produce Manager.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with proper ordering to maintain in-stock conditions.
  • Ensure proper product rotation utilizing FIFO practices.
  • Minimize shrink through effective inventory management and product handling procedures.
  • Monitor product receiving processes to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and department records as required.
  • Ensure compliance with company food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
  • Monitor proper storage, handling, and display of all produce products.
  • Maintain department cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Promote workplace safety and proper equipment operation.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and operational procedures.
  • Assist in achieving departmental sales, labor, and shrink goals.
  • Support labor productivity and expense control initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales, reduce waste, and increase profitability.
  • Monitor department metrics and assist with implementing improvement plans.
  • Contribute to overall store and department performance objectives.

Position Purpose

The Assistant Produce Manager supports the Produce Manager in overseeing all aspects of produce department operations, including merchandising, inventory management, product quality, food safety, customer service, and associate development. Key Responsibilities Department Operations
