Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking an Assistant Principal for Castle Rock Elementary to assist in administrating and supervising the school to create the best possible learning environment for students.

Responsibilities include HR activities, operations management, safety assurance, program development, district collaboration on accreditation and school improvement, and disciplinary oversight with a focus on data-driven achievement and community communications.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree is required for this leadership role.
  • Colorado READ Act Designation (Principal/Admin) preferred.
  • Colorado Department of Education Principal/Administrator license required or in process.

  • Assist in day-to-day operations of the school facility: purchase of instructional supplies and capital reserves.
  • Ensure safety of staff and students during emergencies and drills.
  • Develop and maintain effective instructional and co-curricular programs with staff and community.
  • Collaborate with District Administrators on accreditation, accountability, and school improvement; analyze achievement data.
  • Conduct student disciplinary measures while maintaining instructional continuity and behavior expectations.
  • Coordinate communications among students, community, faculty, and administration.
