Job summary

Key Responsibilities
Catholic Mission and Identity
  • Support the Principal in advancing the Catholic identity and mission of the school.
  • Foster a culture rooted in prayer, service, compassion, respect, and Gospel values.
  • Support faculty in integrating Catholic teachings and faith formation throughout the curriculum and school experience.
  • Participate in and support faith formation opportunities, including liturgies, prayer services, retreats, and service initiatives.
  • Encourage students to recognize their God-given gifts and grow as disciples of Christ.
Academic Excellence and Instructional Leadership
  • Provide leadership in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and continuous academic improvement aligned with Catholic education, Diocesan standards, and school goals.
  • Coach and mentor teachers through classroom observations, feedback, professional growth, and reflective conversations.
  • Lead Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) focused on student achievement, instructional excellence, collaboration, and best practices.
  • Use student achievement data to guide instructional decisions, professional development, and school improvement efforts.
  • Support the implementation of research-based instructional strategies, differentiated instruction, and engaging learning experiences that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Coordinate curriculum review, implementation, documentation, and alignment with Diocesan standards and school goals.
  • Promote instructional practices that foster student engagement, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and lifelong learning.
  • Plan and facilitate professional development that strengthens instructional excellence, faith integration, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and support faculty in their professional growth, spiritual development, and commitment to Catholic education.
  • Assist with teacher recruitment, onboarding, supervision, and evaluation.
  • Foster a collaborative culture built on trust, reflection, shared leadership, and continuous learning.
  • Support faculty and staff communication, training, collaboration, master scheduling, and faculty meetings.
  • Support the selection and effective use of educational resources, instructional materials, and assessment programs.
Student Formation and School Culture
  • Promote a positive, Christ-centered environment where every student feels safe, respected, valued, and loved.
  • Support restorative approaches to student discipline that emphasize accountability, reconciliation, personal responsibility, and virtue development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to address students’ academic, behavioral, spiritual, and social-emotional needs.
  • Encourage students to grow as compassionate, self-motivated servant leaders who embody Christian virtues and use their gifts in service to others.
  • Ensure appropriate supervision of students, classrooms, and school-sponsored activities.
School Leadership and Operations
  • Partner with the Principal in the daily leadership and management of the school.
  • Assist with accreditation, strategic planning, school improvement initiatives, and policy implementation.
  • Support school safety procedures, scheduling, admissions, and family engagement efforts.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, faculty, staff, professional colleagues, and community partners.
  • Utilize educational technology effectively, including FACTS Student Information System, Google Workspace for Education, and digital curriculum platforms.
  • Coordinate classroom and supervisory duty coverage to ensure student supervision and instructional continuity using approved substitutes and available staff as needed.
  • Represent St. Mary Magdalene Catholic School positively within the parish, Diocese, and broader community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with a commitment to the mission and ministry of Catholic education.
  • Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.
  • Valid administrator certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of successful teaching experience, preferably in an elementary or middle school setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum design, instructional coaching, assessment practices, and school improvement.
  • Proficiency in educational technology and data-informed decision-making.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with a collaborative leadership style grounded in integrity, humility, and service.
  • Successful completion of required background and reference checks, along with Diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous administrative or teaching experience in a Catholic school setting.
  • Experience implementing Restorative Practices and relationship-centered approaches to student discipline.
  • Training in Responsive Classroom or comparable social-emotional learning frameworks.
  • Knowledge of MTSS and differentiated instruction to support the academic growth of all learners, including students needing targeted intervention, additional support, or enrichment opportunities.
  • Experience facilitating professional learning and coaching educators.
