Job summary

RRD is seeking an Assistant Press Operator in Tempe, AZ to assist Press Operators with make-ready, operation, and routine maintenance of sheet-fed or web offset presses.

You will insert packing sheets, install plates and blankets, and adjust feeders, guides, and rollers to meet printing height and quality specifications. The role requires reading specs, safe operation, and basic press maintenance. A high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow job specifications to determine set-up materials.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and produce the desired product.
• Ability to use a micrometer to mount and align printing plates.
• Ability to adjust feeder, guides, and timing for press operations.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist with press make-ready, operation, and basic maintenance of sheet-fed or web offset presses.
• Insert packing sheets and install plates/blankets to achieve printing height.
• Adjust press parts (feeder, delivery mechanisms, guides, rollers) as needed.
• Wash blankets and clean ink distributing rollers and fountains.
• Support in color or register corrections before production runs.
