Job summary

Prodigy at BBI in Florida is seeking an Assistant Preschool Teacher to foster a nurturing, developmentally appropriate classroom. You will assist with lesson plans, assess children daily, collaborate with staff, and maintain safety, while communicating with parents and contributing to portfolios.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, CDA preferred, and 1 year of licensed childcare experience. Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) and familiarity with NAEYC

Qualifications

• Must communicate daily with co-teacher and staff.
• Mentor and train new staff as needed.
• Collaborate with staff to plan activities.
• Maintain classroom safety and child well-being.
• Adhere to accreditation and state childcare standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and implementation of lesson plan activities.
• Assess and observe children on a daily basis.
• Adjust learning goals for each child as needed.
• Maintain a healthy and safe environment.
• Collaborate with co-teacher and other staff members.
• Communicate with teachers, staff, and parents in a professional manner.
• Assist with creating classroom newsletters.
• Assist with classroom documentation.
• Assist with creating and maintaining classroom portfolios.
• Familiar with Early Childhood theorists and philosophies.
• Participate in at least 25 hours of professional development per year.
