Job summary

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Practitioner to join the GI & Lymphoma Research Unit on a one-year fixed-term contract at Chelsea. You will support registered nurses and clinical staff to deliver high-quality clinical and research care to patients in clinical trials and studies.

The role involves direct contact with patients and families, requiring compassion, empathy, dignity and sensitivity.

Qualifications

• Supports registered nurses and clinical staff in delivery of clinical and research care.
• Assists with cardiac, urinary and clinical tasks under supervision after competency sign-off.
• Maintains infection control and uses SOPs and governance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compassion, empathy, dignity, comfort, and sensitivity of patients and their relatives at all times.
• Monitor and record patients vital signs and report abnormal results to registered nurses.
• Measure and record patient height and weight.
• Undertake clinical tasks relevant to the clinical area following competency sign-off (ECG, urinalysis, MRSA swabs, allergies).
• Demonstrate understanding of infection control and attend mandatory training.
