Smurfit Westrock seeks an experienced Power area supervisor to lead day-to-day operations of boiler and turbine systems, drive safety, environmental compliance, and cost control, and mentor the maintenance team.
You will optimize plant performance, manage budgets, and collaborate with other production leaders to deliver reliable, low-cost energy and consistent product throughput.

The applicant will use their experience and knowledge to provide day-to-day leadership for the Power area, which includes one NG/coal fired boiler, one biomass boiler, 4 steam turbines and oversite of a contractor operated boiler water treatment plant. The applicant will work to Improve safety, environmental compliance, cost control and boiler and turbine optimization. The applicant will be working towards gaining the need knowledge to be responsible for implementing and maintaining management systems to ensure continued improvement to overall process areas. Will assist with fostering and developing partnerships with adjoining production areas to create a “Winning Solutions” team environment. This position reports to the Power & Recovery Superintendent.
This facility is operated as a multi-craft team concept mill and all individuals are required to work to their potential. The salary range for this position is $91,500.00 - $152,500.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The range listed is also the expected pay for roles in Illinois and Colorado. The benefits for this role include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 15 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change. Your pay will be based on factors such as your skills, experience, and education.
