Job Opening: Assistant Plant Manager at Collins Bus

Forest River, Inc., the nation's largest manufacturer of Recreational Vehicles, Cargo Trailers, Transit Buses, and Boats, is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager for our Collins Bus facility in South Hutchinson, Kansas.

Overview

The Assistant Plant Manager will oversee production operations, ensuring manufacturing processes are efficient and smooth. This role involves monitoring employees, organizing workflow, and optimizing daily activities while minimizing costs. Manufacturing at Collins Bus includes general assembly, paint, welding, and fabrication.

Key Responsibilities

1. Uphold Collins' core values: safety, quality, and delivery.
2. Set and communicate goals effectively to staff.
3. Schedule labor and assign tasks based on skill sets.
4. Delegate responsibilities and establish deadlines.
5. Lead, coach, mentor, and discipline employees as needed.

Qualifications

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Primarily a production floor environment requiring standing, walking, lifting up to 40 lbs, and use of PPE such as safety glasses, earplugs, and safety shoes.

Applicants should be able to work with arms above head, bend, stoop, and follow safety guidelines.

Additional Requirements

• 2-year college degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business (preferred).
• Experience managing technical personnel in vehicle manufacturing.
