Job summary

thyssenkrupp Materials NA seeks an experienced Operations Supervisor to direct plant activities in Sinton, TX. You will coordinate safety, quality, delivery, and productivity to meet customer requirements. Reports to Plant Manager and delegates authority to key supervisors.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Operations Management or Engineering, 5+ years in a supervisory role, and Six Sigma certification. Aerospace experience preferred if no Quality background.

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of supervisory or management experience.
  • 3–5 years in Continuous Improvement including Six Sigma certification.
  • 3–5 years in Quality.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Attitude and aptitude for teamwork.
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Aerospace experience if no Quality background.
  • Safety mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency goals for branch operations.
  • Monitor training to ensure conforming products meeting customer requirements.
  • Oversee data reporting to keep day-to-day activities aligned with safety and quality objectives.
  • Support lean initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Your responsibilities
Job Summary

Directs and coordinates operations in one or more areas of the plant. Ensures that objectives are achieved consistent with customer and quality requirements. Reports to the Plant Manager. Delegates authority to key supervisors.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

  • Works with across functional groups and leads personnel to ensure all safety, quality, delivery, metal utilization, productivity and efficiency goals are met for branch operations.
  • Monitors people and training to ensure processes within the department result in conforming product which always meets the requirements of the customer.
  • Manages and oversees the reporting of all necessary data to ensure that day-to-day activities within the department are repeatable and in line with safety, quality, and operational objectives.
  • Supports and/or lead continuous improvement projects to support TKA and branch's on-going focus on lean principles, efficiency improvements and cost reductions.
  • Ensures daily production is planned and managed.
  • Ensures Preventative Maintenance program is robust and adhered to.
  • Supports work to attain operational efficiency goals.
  • Supports work to attain quality objectives
  • Communicates well with Customer Service and other departments
  • Manages company resources thoughtfully.
  • Complies with all Company, Federal, Provincial human resource policies and laws.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in all operational areas.
  • This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.
  • Meets TKMNA Employee Attributes / Competencies.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5 or more years of experience in a Supervisory or Management position
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in Continuous Improvement including Six Sigma certification
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in Quality
  • Strong Project Management Skills
  • Attitude and aptitude for Teamwork
  • Proven experience in a high volume manufacturing environment
  • Must have Aerospace experience if no Quality background
  • Safety Mindset
