Job summary

Publix Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated pharmacist to lead store pharmacy operations and deliver patient-focused clinical services. You will supervise staff, manage inventory, and provide immunizations and MTM while ensuring exceptional service and compliance with regulations.

The role emphasizes teamwork, leadership, and partnership with the community to advance wellness and accessible care in a customer-centric environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a school of pharmacy and licensed to practice.
  • Unrestricted state pharmacist license required.
  • Experience in immunizations and MTM is preferred; clinical pharmacy services are key.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure best-in-class pharmacy service to patients with counseling and personalized care.
  • Lead and mentor pharmacy staff to deliver high-quality clinical services.
  • Manage inventory, optimize medication availability and reduce shrink.
  • Support immunizations, MTM, and preventative care initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies in all operations.
  • Collaborate with management to achieve department goals and profitability.

As an Assistant Pharmacy Manager, you will:

  • Be dedicated to the overall pharmacy department success, by executing strategy, motivating and inspiring staff as the pharmacist-on-duty, setting priorities to maximize contribution, seeking feedback and developmental opportunities for advancement while in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager
  • Provide best-in-class pharmacy service to patients, empower staff in providing value and service through counseling, building personalized relationships, promoting customer loyalty, offering pharmacist-led clinical services to improve health and wellness and preventative care through services available at Publix
  • Mentor, train and develop a high-functioning pharmacy team, providing developmental opportunities and challenging assignments to all staff, to grow and develop, tailoring to meet each one’s needs
  • Inspire your team to do the right thing, gaining buy in, and empowering the team to be accountable for the goals of the pharmacy department, and serve as a champion for executing programs and processes, creating enthusiasm for innovation
  • Manage department performance including scheduling and assigning tasks to ensure complex operational activities are met in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure continuous improvement and maintain a competitive advantage by understanding metrics as they relate to sales and service in your pharmacy, using best practices and making sound business decisions in the absence of the pharmacist in charge
  • Be regarded as an expert on the pharmacy technology system and how it is used for both routine and complex prescription processing
  • Excel in managing medication on-hand inventory and regarded as an expert in pharmacy inventory operations, mentor others on best practices to maximize sales, minimize shrink while meeting customers’ needs while using programs such as auto refill and Sync Your Refills
  • Proactively advance pharmacy clinical initiatives including Medication Therapy Management (MTM) and immunizations
  • Participate locally as a community pharmacist in events that will meet the unique health and preventative care needs within the local area, such as health screenings
  • Maintain a flexible work-week schedule in order to meet the needs of our customers, and
  • Assist in all other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be a graduate of a school of pharmacy
  • Must have and maintain an unrestricted state pharmacist license
  • Must not have active suspensions, sanctions, or other restrictions related to participation in a private, federal, or state health insurance program upon hire and thereafter and
  • Must not have received an unacceptable result on a company-sponsored drug test within the last three years
Preferred Qualifications
  • Be an immunizing pharmacist meeting the requirements as established by the state (or be scheduled to become an immunizer in the next set of training classes)
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interpret and understand instructions and solve problems
  • Numerical and financial aptitude and
  • Knowledge of retail merchandising and inventory control
