Join UChicago Medicine as an Assistant Patient Care Manager in Infusion Therapy. The Assistant Patient Care Manager (APCM) will be responsible and accountable for overseeing the operations and patient flow of a designated Care Center on the appointed shift. Duties include completing daily or shift-specific quality audits and managing Daily Improvement (MDI) boards, facilitating daily huddles with staff, and directing the delivery of quality, patient-centered care in a financially responsible manner.
This role is in collaboration with, and under the supervision of, the Patient Care Manager (PCM). In the absence of the PCM, the APCM assumes responsibility for the unit and supports 24/7 coverage of the unit.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills are needed to maintain an open network of communication among staff members, care center and sector leadership, and other health-care professionals and departments. Specialty certifications are preferred.
Assist and collaborate with the PCMs in supporting changes and new and existing programs with staff input and feedback. Assist in development of goals that are consistent with department goals and the hospital’s mission. Assist in utilizing appropriate resources and departments to facilitate operations.
Active participation in committee work and task-force assignments as needed; identify issues, present strategies, and act as a change agent to resolve patient care issues.

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed annually. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
