Job summary

The Hotel Hershey in Hershey, PA is hiring a full-time pastry production lead to maintain quality of baked goods and support the pastry team. The role is based at Hershey, PA and requires a strong focus on production planning and team leadership.

You will help organize production, supervise staff, ensure top quality and Forbes standards in presentation, and manage inventories and storage. Excellent benefits begin on the first day of the next month, including Medical/Dental/Vision, 401K, paid

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of related Pastry Production experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid Drivers' License
• Relevant work experience can be substituted for education - 7 years

Responsibilities

• Organize overall production to maintain an even level of daily team workload to meet deadlines and uphold quality standards.
• Demonstrate leadership within the team and communicate clearly with supervisors, team members, and customers; assist in mentorship of pastry shop staff.
• Supervise, motivate, train, delegate, counsel team members for success and maintain high quality of food presentation and methods.
• Stay current with industry trends and maintain Forbes standards in daily operations.
• Assist with food ordering, pars, and proper storage of baking and pastry goods; complete monthly inventories.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, protect property, and maintain a clean, sanitary work environment daily.
• Support Executive Pastry Chef and attend meetings; fill in during Chef absence as needed.
• Maintain standards of personal hygiene and uniform guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

• Ability to organize overall production to maintain an even level of daily team workload to comfortably meet deadlines, maintaining execution of quality and standards*
• Demonstrate strong leadership skills within team members and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors, team members, and customers. Assist in the management and mentorship of the pastry shop staff *
• Ability to supervise, motivate, train, delegate, and counsel team members for success and growth and maintain high quality of food presentation and self-actions to reflect current Forbes standards*
• Project a positive, self-motivated, and professional attitude at all times and demonstrate an interest in industry growth by staying on top of trends, keeping within industry demands, and maintaining current standards*
• Assist with food ordering, pars, and executing proper storage of baking and pastry goods. Complete monthly food inventories with accuracy*
• Monitor the compliance of company procedures, protection of property, adherence to departmental policies,·and maintain and enforce a clean and sanitary work environment on a daily basis*
• Assist with additional requests of the Executive Pastry Chef and/or Executive Chef. Ensure ability to fill in during absence of Pastry Chef and attend required meetings, following through on communication as needed*
• Maintain and enforce standards of good personal hygiene and proper uniform guidelines*
• Perform other duties as assigned.
