Assistant or Co-Lead in Lower Elementary class in Santa Rosa Beach, FL, US

South Walton Montessori Academy (SWMA) is seeking a trained and credentialed Lower Elementary Montessori teacher for a unique, long-term opportunity in beautiful Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.

This position is designed for a Montessori educator who is excited to grow into a Lead role. The selected candidate will begin as a Lower Elementary Assistant Teacher, working closely with and training under our current Lead Teacher. During the 2026–27 school year, this teacher will step in to lead the classroom during a 3-month maternity leave, with full support from administration. Following that year, the teacher will open and lead a new Lower Elementary classroom for the 2027–28 school year.

SWMA is an authentic Montessori school serving approximately 75 students, from 18 months through 6th grade. All Lead Teachers are Montessori certified, and many of our Assistants hold credentials as well. Our close-knit staff members are hardworking, collaborative, and deeply committed to Montessori philosophy.

Position Details
Role (Year 1): Lower Elementary Assistant / Co-Lead Teacher

Future Role: Lead Teacher (2027–28 school year)

Start Date: August 2024- Could also start immediately and train for this school year if possible

Schedule: Full-time during the school year; summers off
