Upstate Medical University seeks an accomplished investigator to develop an externally funded program in cell and developmental biology. The successful candidate will contribute to graduate and medical education, mentor trainees, and engage in departmental and institutional service.
Areas of interest include vertebrate development, stem cell differentiation, organogenesis, iPSC-derived disease models, organoids, and live imaging. Rank and track depend on qualifications and leadership experience.
The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an innovative, externally funded research program; contribute to graduate and medical education; mentor trainees; and participate in departmental and institutional service. Research areas of interest include vertebrate development, stem cell differentiation, organogenesis, iPSC‑derived disease models, organoids, tissue patterning, live imaging, spatial or single‑cell approaches, mechanobiology, and developmental signaling.
Candidates must hold a PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree and have relevant postdoctoral or independent research experience.
Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent degree in cell or developmental biology or a related field and currently hold the rank of an assistant or associate professor or a comparable leadership position in private industry. Applicants should have established track records of funding and research productivity. Successful candidates are expected to develop and maintain a vigorous extramurally funded research program and participate in the education of medical and graduate students.
