Job summary

Talbots, Inc. is seeking an experienced retail leader to drive store operations and coach a team toward delivering exceptional customer experiences. You will mentor staff, manage floor sets and merchandising, and ensure brand standards while meeting sales goals.

This role emphasizes guest service, teamwork and integrity in a fast-paced environment with opportunities for growth and incentive programs. Regular/full-time schedule in a specialty retail setting.

Qualifications

  • An experienced leader with two or more years of specialty retail experience focused on store operations and/or visual merchandising.
  • Professional with strong work ethic, integrity and respect for others.
  • Customer-centric and understands how exceptional service grows store sales.
  • Educator, coach and mentor inspiring team associates based on their strengths.
  • Organized and strategic, able to make independent decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear communicator of business information and brand initiatives.
  • Ambitious, enthusiastic and friendly, able to work in a diverse team.
  • Proficient with POS/iPad/handheld systems and technology.
  • Able to bend, reach, lift at least 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Create and foster a culture of hospitality through exceptional customer experiences and build relationships.
  • Provide an exceptional customer service experience that promotes the product and brand.
  • Achieve sales and service metrics in Clientelling/Outreach and related programs.
  • Partner with the Manager to lead the team across all operational areas.
  • Plan, execute and lead floor sets, displays, recalls and markdowns.
  • Educate, train and reinforce brand standards and company policies.
  • Balance operational and selling energy, plan scheduling and prioritize tasks.
  • Maintain knowledge of business trends and drivers to maximize sales and goals.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and employment laws.
  • Develop positive working relationships for a productive environment.

  • Able to bend, reach, stretch for product as well as lift, carry, and move at least 40 lbs.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the business including opening/closing shifts as well as weekends and holidays.

  • Have open availability of 40 hours per week.


What You'll Do:



  • Create and foster a culture of hospitality through exceptional customer experiences and build enduring relationships both internally and externally.

  • Provide an exceptional and meaningful customer service experience that promotes the product and builds brand relationships.

  • Achieve sales and service metrics in key measurable areas including: Clientelling/Outreach, Appointment Setting, Talbots Classic Awards etc.

  • Partner with the Manager to lead the team with ownership as it relates to all areas of operations.

  • Plan, execute and lead floor sets, window displays, interior marketing, recalls, markdowns etc.

  • Educate, train, and reinforce brand standards as well as company policies and procedures.

  • Understand the appropriate balance needed between operational and selling energy and ensure proper planning/scheduling and prioritizing tasks and responsibilities to meet the needs of the business.

  • Maintain knowledge of business and competitive landscape, fashion trends and key business drivers to strategically identify opportunities that will maximize sales and ensure financial goals are achieved.

  • Ensure compliance of all company policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal employment laws.

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships that support a productive work environment.
