The New York Foundling is seeking an RN leader to provide clinical leadership within the Developmental Disabilities Division. You will supervise nursing staff, ensure high-quality health services, and uphold regulatory standards to support individuals’ goals and well‑being.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • Current New York State RN License in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in developmental disabilities, residential, or community-based settings (OPWDD exp. preferred).
  • BLS certificate.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience in healthcare or human services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

Clinical leadership and administrative oversight to nursing staff within the Developmental Disabilities Division. This role ensures the consistent delivery of high-quality, person-centered health services while adhering to OPWDD regulations and internal policies and fostering a culture of clinical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Core Responsibilities
  • Provides direct supervision and support to nursing staff by promoting clinical competence, professionalism, and accountability. This includes conducting performance evaluations and fostering staff development through mentoring and targeted training initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations and NYF policies by conducting regular audits, facilitating staff training, and implementing corrective action plans. Monitor fidelity to clinical protocols and verify that all documentation aligns with regulatory standards as set by governing agencies and NYF policies.
  • Manages the implementation of medical interventions aimed at improving health outcomes and enhancing the overall quality of life for each person supported. Review and analyze health trends to identify areas for improvement, mitigate health risks and propose process improvements to the interdisciplinary team.
  • Ensure all health related documentation in a timely, accurate, and in a comprehensive manner by the nursing and interdisciplinary team. Conduct regular audits of health records to ensure they meet regulatory requirements and internal policies and protocols.
  • Manage compliance of all health services records to ensure appropriate documentation of individual's medical record. Device and implement strategies to improve the accessibility and integrity of health information, ensuring readiness for audits and facilitating effective care coordination.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to the development and review of person-centered care and treatment plans, providing essential nursing input to support individuals' goals and improve health outcomes.
  • Provide medical expertise to internal oversight committees such as the ICC, HRC, and IRC, supporting ethical, safe, and effective care practices through informed clinical contributions.
  • Leads ongoing medication reviews for all persons supported. Ensure pharmacological treatments are safe, effective, and appropriately managed, working collaboratively with prescribers and pharmacy services to address any concerns.

Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License in good standing
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a developmental disabilities, residential, or community-based setting (OPWDD experience strongly preferred).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare or human services environment, with demonstrated ability to manage and support nursing staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, residential staff, families, and external providers.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, monitor care quality, and ensure timely follow-through on medical needs.
