Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in Hackensack, NJ seeks an experienced Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM), a registered nurse who supports the nursing strategic plan and priorities and fosters a collaborative work environment focused on patient care.

The ANM collaborates with leadership to recruit and retain staff, conducts leader rounding, drives unit goals, participates in evidence-based practice, resolves conflicts, conducts evaluations, and leads rounds to improve patient and family experience.

Qualifications

• Active NJ RN license required
• Minimum 3 years nursing experience in a relevant specialty
• BSN in progress within 3 years of hire
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification; magnet recognition preferred

Responsibilities

• Participate in recruitment and staff retention efforts.
• Assist with unit huddles and leader rounding with employees.
• Develop unit goals aligned with hospital mission.
• Lead or participate in evidence-based practice projects or research.
• Resolve conflicts and facilitate constructive resolutions.
• Complete employee corrective action plans or counseling as needed.
• Prepare and conduct performance evaluations for staff.
• Oversee orientation processes for new hires and staff.
• Lead multidisciplinary rounds to enhance patient and family experience.
• Monitor unit-based performance improvement initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Participate in recruitment and retention strategies.
• Assist with unit huddles and leader rounding with employees.
• Create unit goals reflective of hospital goals and mission.
• Lead or participate in evidence-based practice projects or research.
• Resolve conflicts and facilitate constructive resolutions.
• Complete employee corrective action plans/counseling as necessary.
• Prepare and conduct periodic performance evaluations for staff.
• Monitor unit orientation processes for all roles as necessary.
• Lead multidisciplinary rounds to optimize patient and family experience.
• Ensure unit-based performance improvement monitoring is completed.

Requirements

Education:

• Associate in Nursing or diploma of Nursing degree required
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years recent nursing experience in respective specialty

Licenses & Certifications:

• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License required
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification requiredNational Certification acceptable to the Magnet Recognition Program preferred
