Job summary

Berkeley Bowl is seeking a Night Crew Manager to lead the night team and ensure merchandising readiness for store openings. The role is a full-time management position requiring over 45 hours per week and responsibilities across scheduling, training, and coordination with the grocery buying team.

You will supervise department supervisors, approve timecards, and contribute to hiring decisions while upholding safety and stock level targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Food Safety Certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe warehouse and ensure stock is ready for store opening.
• Ensure proper ordering/receiving to maintain stock and uphold safety.
• Assist other store areas as needed.

Job description

To assist and directs the night crew personnel and ensures that grocery merchandising is complete for store opening. This is a management/leadership position (45+ hours per week).

Responsibilities

Demonstrate the ability to learn all aspects of the night crew manager, fill in for night crew manager when necessary.

Schedule, develop, counsel, train, and direct department supervisors and other personnel.

Make recommendations for hiring, promotion and termination to Store Manager.

Review and approve timecards.

Draft and participate in presentation of employee performance evaluations.

Oversee and coordinate with the grocery buying team on product placement including building endcaps, placing seasonal and promotional products.

Ensure accurate signage is in place and notify POS department and Grocery buying team of missing labels and incorrect prices.

Ensure maintenance of warehouse that product is store in a clean, safe, organized manner.

Provide directions to staff to ensure that displays are fully stocked and neatly organized and prepared by store opening.

Ensure proper ordering and receiving to maintain appropriate stock levels. Implement and uphold safety procedures for staff and overall store safety.

Assist in other area/departments of the store as needed/necessary.

Strong sense of urgency with the ability to prioritize.

Management experience and merchandising experience preferred.

Education & Training

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Licenses & Certifications

Food Safety Certification within 90 days of hire.

Other

Must be 18 years of age to operate equipment. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Able to stand for extended periods of time.

Pay Range

$68,750.00 - $75,000.00 per year
