TEGNA's WOI KCWI-TV Des Moines is seeking an Assistant News Director to lead and coach a newsroom team across broadcast, online, and social platforms. You will guide day-to-day editorial decisions, drive accurate, fair local content, and collaborate with the digital team to maximize audience reach.
The role requires a bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field, 3-5 years of content leadership, and strong management and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has excellent news judgment and strong management skills with the ability to motivate, collaborate and own the big story. The Assistant News Director will lead day-to-day decision making on broadcast coverage and work closely with the digital team to ensure our content best serves the audience on all platforms.
