Job summary

Fitchburg State University in Fitchburg, MA invites applications for a part-time, non-benefited lacrosse program position. You will assist the head coach with leadership, organization, and supervision of the men’s lacrosse program, and help with practice planning, contests, recruiting, and fundraising.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in providing leadership, organization and supervision of the men’s lacrosse program.
• Assist with organizing the program in alignment with the Athletics Department mission.
• Maintain knowledge of current NCAA and conference rules and regulations regarding recruiting and eligibility.
• Assist with practice planning, contest management, and fundraising as requested by the head coach.
• Maintain records of program-related hours to comply with FLSA limits.
• Represent the program at department meetings in the head coach’s absence.
• Other duties as requested by the head coach.

Job Description:

• To assist the head coach in providing leadership, organization and supervision of the men's lacrosse program. To assist with organizing the program in a manner that supports the mission of Fitchburg State University and the philosophy of the Athletics Department.
• Develop knowledge of and abide by current NCAA, MASCAC or other affiliated conferences, rules and regulations regarding recruiting, eligibility and sport-specific rules concerning practice and playing seasons.
• Maintain knowledge of current sport game rules and changes to those rules as they occur.
• Assist the head coach with all phases of the organization of the program as requested by the head coach, including practice planning, contest management, recruiting, fundraising, and other responsibilities.
• Maintain record of program-related hours worked in order to comply with contracted maximum number of hours allowed as per the Fair Labor Standards Act.
• Conduct oneself in an ethical manner during practices and contests and demand appropriate behavior from all team personnel.
• Represent the program at department meetings and functions in the absence of the head coach.
• Other duties as requested.

Additional Information:

This is a part-time, non-benefited position and the salary range for this position based on duties and hours is $1,000-$5,500.
