Job summary

Spring Branch Community Health Center is seeking an Assistant Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and supervise medical staff, ensuring high standards of patient care in our Houston health center.

You will partner with the Medical Director to implement standards, policies, and procedures, oversee clinical operations, and coordinate care with referring physicians to support timely follow-up and a collaborative care culture for patients in our service area.

Qualifications

• Medical degree and Texas medical license required.
• Current unrestricted license from the Texas Medical Board.
• Annual continuing medical education as required by Board specialty.
• Must have current DEA and related certificates to practice in Texas.
• Hospital privileges at designated area hospitals if required.
• Certified BLS or BLS equivalent.
• Proficiency in Computer Skills and Electronic Health Records.
• Bilingual – English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Render professional services within the scope of training and comply with laws and standards.
• Provide supervision and coordinate diagnostic and treatment services for patients.
• Assist the Medical Director in implementing Federal and State medical practice laws and regulations.
• Update medical alerts for staff, including CDC guidelines and infectious disease information.
• Supervise subordinate providers and maintain a chart review system.
• Oversee call coverage with other Medical Providers approved by SBCHC.
• Perform administrative duties to ensure efficient practice operation.
• Enforce standards and policies for all SBCHC clinics.
• Participate in safety programs and emergency response activities.
