Troon Golf is seeking an assistant equipment mechanic for a busy golf course agronomy department. You will work directly with the head mechanic, performing repairs and routine maintenance on mowing equipment and golf carts, while learning the intricacies of our operations.
The role includes on-course project support, preventative maintenance compliance, and occasional snow removal in winter. Candidates should be self-starting with strong work ethic.
With recent retirement of our head mechanic who was here for 25 years, we are looking to hire an assistant equipment mechanic to replace our former that took on the head mechanic role. As the assistant, you will be expected to work directly with the head mechanic, completing anything that needs to be done in regard to equipment repairs and maintenance. The head has been in the shop here for 27 years with a depth of knowledge of our equipment and regular golf course practices so there will be many learning opportunities. We are a Troon Golf managed facility, headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, which allows employees access to the worldwide Troon network.

Superintendent and Head Mechanic
Full time, hourly position. $20+/hr (D.O.E)
This person must be a self-starter, with strong work ethic.
Desire to learn the intricacies of golf equipment.
A general knowledge of mechanical maintenance is strongly preferred.
Keeping a clean shop/work area is a priority.
Knowledge of basic tool safety and how to use them.
Educational opportunities available.
Weekend work required April – October, typically 3.5 hours each day, every other weekend.
