Job summary

Schnucks is seeking an Assistant Meat Manager in Champaign, IL to support the Department Manager and lead the meat team. You will cut beef, pork, lamb and veal, grind sausage, order product, merchandise, and ensure safety and freshness while delivering excellent customer service.

Hours are 40 per week with flexible availability including weekends; shifts may range from early morning to late evening. Previous Journeyman Meat Cutter experience and leadership are preferred; Schnucks offers

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience as a Journeyman Meat Cutter; or equivalent related work experience is required.
• Experience operating a meat saw and grinder
• Leadership experience as a Head Meat Cutter/Meat Manager preferred

Job Description The Assistant Meat Manager will perform all the duties and job functions of an experienced clerk. Must have the ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions. The Assistant Manager will assume the responsibility of the Department Manager in their absence.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years experience as a Journeyman Meat Cutter; or equivalent related work experience is required.
• Experience operating a meat saw and grinder
• Leadership experience as a Head Meat Cutter/Meat Manager preferred

Additional Requirements – Internal Candidates:

• Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
• Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.
• Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
• If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.

The position is 40 hours per week. Flexible availability including weekends is important in our retail environment. Hours may range from 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Compensation Pay Range: $15.75 - $17.55
