Job description

The Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the department to ensure Wynn Las Vegas standards are maintained by the staff. This position is also responsible for providing leadership to enhance employee engagement and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for maintaining the Wynn standards of service to guests and coworkers at all times.
  • Ensures the Wynn standards of cleanliness and appearance for all areas.
  • Maintains a safe and pristine work environment at all times.
  • Works with safety as a priority and follows department and company safety standards.
  • Knows and adheres to Wynn policies and procedures, embraces company culture and takes pride in the resort and amenities.
  • Understands and is well-versed in the resort, hotel features and services including all outlets, hours of operation, activities and events available to guests.
  • Attends required training classes and incorporates knowledge gained into daily work practices.
  • Looks for opportunities to assist peers, guests, other departments or leaders at all times.
  • Solution oriented, avoiding conflict and gossip, stays on task and promotes teamwork.
  • Is aware of guest experience at all times, smiles and makes eye contact, communicates professionally.
  • Manages all levels of staff including Attendants and Seamers.
  • Effectively manages many personality types and implements a calm environment when under pressure.
  • Provides support to the Director of Uniform Control.
  • Handles financial planning, forecasting, labor and payroll for areas of responsibility.
  • Is an active member of the Hotel Division management team.
  • Provides clear direction, establishes goals and appropriate time frames, manages overall guest satisfaction, and monitors progress to achieve desired results.
  • Focuses on key drivers of employee engagement and guest satisfaction.
  • Consults regularly with all levels of management to provide constructive feedback and enhance the guest experience.
  • Coordinates with all levels of management to maintain the highest level of guest service standards.
  • Responsible for all hiring practices within the department, including interviewing and selecting excellent staff.
  • Ensures staff is equipped with all tools to serve guests’ needs.
  • Effectively deals with internal and external guests, including those requiring patience, tact and diplomacy, and addresses guest issues.
  • Trains, conducts employee performance evaluations, and develops all staff.
  • Manages inventory, equipment, administrative supplies and any necessary items within the Uniform department.
  • Maintains a complete knowledge of industry through continuing education and training.
  • Ensures upkeep, maintenance and cleanliness of all areas of the Uniform department.
  • Has overall responsibility for employee payroll, vacation and other benefits tracking.
Qualifications
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple priorities simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Skilled at giving feedback at all levels, challenging status quo and motivating others.
  • Strong problem negotiation, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Outstanding organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Can work efficiently with deadlines and is disciplined without constant guidance.
  • Can compute basic mathematical calculations, decipher reports and create reports upon request.
  • Weekend availability; schedule is not set and must be able to work all shifts and flex schedule based on business demands.
  • Works efficiently within a team environment.
  • Handles stressful, high-pressure situations effectively.
  • Has a positive, "whatever it takes" attitude.
  • Well groomed and professional.
  • Open-minded and willing to learn new processes, concepts and ways of approaching analysis.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to deal with problems involving guests and operational issues while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Maintains the highest levels of confidentiality regarding guests and staff.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Can communicate in English to guests, management and associates; additional foreign language a plus.
  • Education equivalent to a high school diploma or other equivalent combination that provides required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
