Big 5 Sporting Goods Beaverton, OR is seeking an Assistant Manager Trainee (Part-time) with enthusiasm for sports and outdoor activities. This entry-level role provides training and a clear path to higher management, under experienced supervision, in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will deliver strong customer service, support store operations, assist with opening/closing, train new staff, and help maintain inventory and promotional signage.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and assist customers throughout the store
• Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries
• Recommend products and suggest add-on sales
• Merchandising and compliance of all company policies
• Setting promotional signage
• Checking and retrieving merchandise from stockroom as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked sales floor
• Assist with store opening and closing procedures
• Training newly hired associates
• Directing sales and cashier associates throughout the store
• Inventory control and enforcement of loss prevention policies
• Enforcement of all company policies
• Performs or may perform additional duties as assigned by management and supervision
