Your Job:

This full-time position in our Bothell Outlet store manages and directs retail staff, creates schedules, maintains and conducts physical inventories, promotes sales, and ensures staff are fully trained on the operation of the store including opening, closing, and providing exceptional service to our retail customers. The Retail Assistant Manager – Outlet is the go-to person for product questions and helps with hiring, training, and evaluating store staff.

Assistant Manager works Tuesday-Saturday with limited flexibility.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the store manager with recruiting, hiring, training, and managing store employees to ensure cost-effective and quality store operations.
  • Partner with the Store Manager to learn the store budget (revenue, COGS, compensation, and expenses) and operations around product flow and people management.
  • Partner with the Store Manager to develop and execute projects that increase operational efficiency.
  • Assist Store Manager with weekly business reporting calculations and communications.
  • Responsible for creating weekly staff schedules to ensure optimum store operation.
  • Schedule and facilitate quarterly staff meetings.
  • Direct retail staff and provide support for customer questions; inspire and motivate employees to perform at peak levels.
  • Manage store-level partnerships with local businesses.
  • Make store critical decisions in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Manage inventory receiving process.
  • Troubleshoot inventory problems.
  • Complete regular cycle counts and adjust on-hand inventory reporting as needed.
  • Stock shoe and apparel shelves as necessary.
  • Provide customers and staff with product information.
  • Recommend products that meet customers’ needs.
  • Help to implement sales incentive programs and provide necessary follow-up.
  • Order store supplies as needed.
  • Track and display daily and weekly sales.
  • Provide input for employee reviews to manager.
  • Support the store manager in all duties relating to the annual Truckload Sale.
  • Occasionally travel to support the transactional and retail element of Brand events.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • 2+ years of related experience in the retail field, required.
  • Experience leading or managing teams.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Team player with the ability to motivate staff.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated initiative.
  • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience in cash-handling and knowledge of RICS POS system or similar retail POS required.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks; deal with challenging situations with a friendly positive attitude.
  • Passionate participation in Brooks’ sports activities a plus, overridden by the ability to understand and empathize with the runner in order to develop loyal, engaging relationships with our customers and the Brooks community.

Compensation:

The pay range for this position is $22.81 - $31.95 per hour. Base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
