Job summary

BLUSA Defense Manufacturing is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Assistant Manager, Quality Control to support and oversee quality control operations within our manufacturing, and product realization environment. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
• 3–7 years of experience in quality control within a manufacturing environment (defense/aerospace strongly preferred).
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 9001 and AS9100.
• Experience with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, gauges, etc.).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Quick learner ERP/MRP systems and quality management software.

Responsibilities

• Support the Quality Assurance Manager in daily operations of the Quality Control department.
• Supervise and mentor quality inspectors and technicians.
• Monitor as needed submission of product with applicable standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, customer-specific requirements).
• Oversee inspection processes including incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
• Review and approve inspection reports, test results, and quality documentation.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues.
• Assist with internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory audits.
• Oversee proper calibration and maintenance of inspection and testing equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Support the Quality Assurance Manager in daily operations of the Quality Control department
• Supervise and mentor quality inspectors and technicians.
• Monitor as needed submission of product with applicable standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, customer-specific requirements)
• Oversee inspection processes including incoming, in-process, and final inspections
• Review and approve inspection reports, test results, and quality documentation

Qualifications: Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field preferred
• 3–7 years of experience in quality control within a manufacturing environment (defense/aerospace strongly preferred)

Technical Skills:
