Job summary

FullSpeedAutomotive is seeking an Assistant Manager at our Eden Prairie location to support the Store Manager in leading daily operations and delivering fast, friendly, high-quality automotive service. The role is hands-on, balancing time between the service bay, front counter, and back office.

You will coach technicians and service advisors, schedule shifts, onboard new staff, and ensure safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in retail, automotive service, or customer-facing leadership role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to lead a team.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on environment including service bay work.
• Basic math and cash-handling skills; proficient with POS and inventory systems.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and some holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations in the absence of the Store Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership & Supervision

• Support the Store Manager in supervising daily operations, stepping in to lead the location in the manager's absence.
• Coach, train, and motivate technicians and service advisors to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
• Assist with scheduling team members to ensure proper coverage during peak hours and busy seasons.
• Help onboard and train new team members on service procedures, point-of-sale systems, and customer service standards.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment that reflectsFullSpeedAutomotive's values.

Customer Experience & Sales

• Greet customers, explain services, and ensure every visit reflectsFullSpeedAutomotive's commitment to speed, quality, and trust.
• Recommend additional services based on manufacturer guidelines and vehicle needs, helping customers make informed decisions.
• Resolve customer concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, escalating to the Store Manager when needed.
• Support efforts to build repeat business through excellent service and genuine customer care.

Store & Shop Operations

• Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and point-of-sale transactions.
• Help monitor and maintain inventory levels for parts, fluids, and supplies — placing orders as directed by the Store Manager.
• Ensure the shop and customer areas are clean, organized, and presentableat all times, reflecting brand standards.
• Support compliance with all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.
• Assist with tracking daily sales, productivity, and key performance metrics, helping the team stay focused on store goals.

Quality & Safety

• Help ensure all services are performed correctly, safely, and in accordance with brand and manufacturer standards.
• Conduct or support quality checks on completed work to maintain a high standard of service.
• Promote a safety-first culture, ensuring team members follow proper procedures for equipment use, chemical handling, and shop safety.
• Assist in identifying and addressing maintenance needs for shop equipment and facilities.

• ASE certification(s) or willingness to obtain certifications as required by brand standards.
