The Assistant Manager, Patient Care in the Emergency Room is responsible for managing team members and patient care activities during assigned shifts. This role is ideal for individuals who excel in leadership and are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

What You’ll Do
- Manage and lead team members, operations, and patient care activities within a patient care unit during assigned shift.
- Collaborate with team members and nursing management in developing methods and techniques for patient care.
- Communicate, build consensus, and guide team members toward achieving department objectives.
- Promote and maintain high-quality patient and family-centered care in a healing environment.
- Create a professional work environment that encourages respect, engagement, accountability, and optimal patient outcomes.
- Promote appreciative inquiry and evidence-based, ethical, and compassionate practice.
- Provide direction and guidance to patient care unit team members during assigned shift.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide input into hiring, promotions, and corrective actions.
- Serve as a role model for standards of professional practice (clinical, educational, and leadership).
- Educate team members in new and existing department procedures and systems.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
Experience:
- 4-6 years of nursing experience required.
- 0-2 years of leadership/management experience required.
- Previous experience in Emergency Room highly preferred.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required.
- Specialized certifications, as needed.
