Job summary

National Vision, Inc. is hiring an Assistant Manager at Eyeglass World in Melbourne, FL to oversee daily store operations and deliver exceptional eye care and shopping experiences. You will lead a team, drive sales, manage promotions, and coordinate with store leadership to balance staffing with volume.

The role emphasizes coaching, customer service excellence, and collaboration with doctors and corporate teams to meet performance goals while supporting growth and a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• Optical sales experience preferred; supervisory experience a plus.
• Strong leadership and ability to coach and develop store associates.
• Solid understanding of store operations and success metrics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for team management.
• Ability to analyze financial reports and store performance.

Responsibilities

• Drive and achieve profit, sales and performance goals according to National Vision standards.
• Monitor sales results against budgeted targets.
• Ensure all store associates deliver the highest level of customer service.
• Maintain awareness of same-day service using Ready When Promised production board.
• Communicate with General Manager, District Manager and Corporate Office; provide store reporting.
• Develop and maintain relationships with doctors associated with the store; act as liaison between doctor and staff.
• Ensure promotions, advertising and merchandising are properly executed and communicated to staff and doctors.
• Supervise and motivate Optical Sales Associates and ensure day-to-day functions are completed.
• Assist GM with staffing to store volume; participate in recruiting and retention of staff.
• Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.

Job Responsibilities

What would you do? – The Specifics

• Drive and achieve profit, sales and performance goals according to National Visionstandards.
• Monitor sales results against budgeted.
• Ensure all store associates achieve and maintain the highest level of customer service.
• Maintain awareness of same day service using “Ready When Promised” production board.
• Communicate with the General Manger, District Manager, and Corporate Office and provide store reporting as required.
• Develop and maintain a good working relationship with doctor(s) associated with the store and serves as liaison between doctor and store personnel.
• Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and all associates and doctors are aware of current promotions.
• Supervise and motivate Optician/Sales Associates and ensures the timely completion of day-to-day functions.
• Assist the General Manager with balancing staffing to store volume. Assist in recruiting, selecting and retaining a high caliber staff.
• Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.
• In some locations, state laws require certain responsibilities to be performed by individuals with specific licenses or credentials. Job duties and work practices may vary to meet these requirements.
