Job summary

National Vision is seeking an Assistant Eyeglass Manager to oversee daily store operations, personnel management and inventory control, and to drive profitability in the eyeglass department.

You will coach and motivate staff, ensure exceptional customer service, review promotions and merchandising, and report store performance to leadership.

Note: Sundays off—the stores are closed every Sunday.

Qualifications

• Supervising experience is preferred.
• Ability to lead, coach and build associate relationships.
• Strong communication skills for effective management of teams.
• Strong organizational skills for planning work and monitoring progress toward goals.
• Ability to analyze, create, and understand financial reports.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and achieve profit, sales and performance goals (i.e. reviewing the P&L).
• Optimize and oversee the eyeglass department to ensure efficiency and compliance with company policies and guidelines.
• Convey a commitment to providing outstanding customer service and ensure all associates do the same.
• Ensure quality standards are met; review remakes and enforce policies for compliance.
• Communicate with General Manager, District Manager, and Corporate Office; provide store reporting.
• Ensure promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and understood by associates and doctors.
• Supervise and motivate Opticians and CL Sales associates; ensure day-to-day functions are completed on time.
• Assist General Manager with forecasting staffing needs, recruiting and retaining a high-caliber staff.
• Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.
• Duties may vary to meet state licensure requirements.

Job Description

What would you do? – The Specifics

• Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.


• In some locations, state laws require certain responsibilities to be performed by individuals with specific licenses or credentials. Job duties and work practices may vary to meet these requirements.
