Job summary

Pacific Manufacturing TN is seeking a Die Maintenance Supervisor to lead the stamping die maintenance team, oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot die issues, and ensure parts meet specifications.

You will collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve die performance, train associates, and drive continuous improvement while safeguarding uptime and safety. Requires 5+ years in die maintenance and leadership.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years in die maintenance, tool and die, or related field.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of progressive and transfer stamping dies.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience training and developing team members.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support daily activities of die maintenance technicians.
• Training, development, and guidance to die maintenance associates and Group Leads.
• Set goals, priorities, and guidelines for die maintenance projects and assignments.
• Plan and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance for stamping dies.
• Troubleshoot and repair die issues to ensure dies meet specifications and produce quality parts.
• Provide technical direction to the die maintenance team to minimize downtime.
• Assist with Quality Problem Reports including countermeasures from a die maintenance perspective.
• Monitor and control overtime to meet operational needs.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve die performance.
• Identify potential issues proactively and address them in a timely manner.

Job Description

Primary Responsibility: Responsible for supporting the Die Maintenance Group Lead in overseeing the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of stamping dies to ensure optimal performance, minimal downtime, and consistent product quality. This role provides leadership to die maintenance team, ensuring dies meet specifications and supporting production through continuous improvement, training, and effective communication.

Essential Functions: (include but not limited to)

• Supervise and support daily activities of die maintenance technicians
• Responsible for training, development, and guidance to die maintenance associates and Group Leads
• Set goals, priorities, and guidelines for die maintenance projects and assignments
• Plan and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance for stamping dies
• Troubleshoot and repair die issues to ensure dies meet specifications and produce quality parts
• Provide technical direction to the die maintenance team to maintain in-spec dies and minimize downtime
• Assists with QPRs (Quality Problem Reports) including implementing countermeasures from a die maintenance perspective
• Monitor and control overtime to meet operational needs
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve die performance and reliability
• Identify potential issues proactively and address them in a timely manner
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; Technical degree or certification preferred
• 5+ years of experience in die maintenance, tool and die, or related field
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of progressive and transfer stamping dies
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Experience training and developing team members
• Proficiency with toolroom equipment (mills, lathes, grinders, welding equipment)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tooling drawings, and precision measuring tools
• Basic computer skills for documentation and tracking
• Forklift and overhead crane operation (certification provided)
